Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIP), which were the hot products of the insurance sector just a year back, now seem to have lost some of their flavour, thanks to market volatility. ULIPs accounted for 42 per cent of all insurance premium paid in 2005-06, which went up to 80 per cent of he total premium paid in 2007-08.
