Army jawan rues gross mistreatment
Sixteen bullets pierced Harikuttan Nair's body when Naga insurgents attacked an Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur in 1994. While many of his colleagues died on the spot, Harikuttan suffered serious injuries - multiple fractures, nerve palsy, an amputated right thumb and damage to his excretory system.
