Army Says Situation Under Control In Manipur, Train Ops Stopped, Other Top Stories
The Manipur government has issued "shoot at sight" orders as violence in the state spread to its capital Imphal. Security has been strengthened with the deployment of 55 army columns. The Rapid Action Force has also been flown in; Veteran leader Sharad Pawar is yet to take a final call on requests to roll back his resignation, but his Nationalist Congress Party is clearing decks for a successor -- just in case. Supriya Sule, Mr Pawar's daughter, appears to be the favourite and other top stories.
