Two more have been arrested for allegedly spreading rumours about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's health, taking the total number of people in custody to eight. For a week, neither doctors nor Jayalalithaa's party, the AIADMK, have shared updates on her health, but the police has made it clear that it will not tolerate loose talk. In fact, a team of cyber experts will track, identify and punish those posting rumours or misinformation on social media. Police cases have been filed against 50 people for rumour-mongering over the CM's health.
