Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has denied he met fugitive tycoon Vijay Mallya before the businessman left India. Mr Mallya today claimed he met Mr Jaitley to "settle matters" before leaving India. The finance minister said the businessman's claim is factually false, that he never gave Mr Mallya an appointment, though he said the businessman briefly approached him outside parliament on one occasion. Now with a British court set to give the verdict on Mr Mallya's extradition on December 10, the matter is bound to heat up among political as well as industry circles.
