As COVID-19 Surges, India's Oxygen Shortage Mounts, Prices Surge
India's coronavirus cases have crossed the 5 million mark and this has led to a surge in demand of medical oxygen. While there is adequate supply, the supply chain seems unable to cope. Shortage of tankers has led to a shortfall in many states. Indian Medical Association President of Maharashtra says only 60 per cent of the demand is being met and this has led to surge in COVID-19 fatalities in Maharashtra.
