Since the Mohamed Muizzu government came to power in the Maldives last year, tensions with India have risen, leading to calls for a boycott of the Maldives on social media. This, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promotion of Lakshadweep, has affected Indian tourism to the Maldives while Lakshadweep's popularity has grown. NDTV's Gaurie Dwivedi talks with Aditya Gowdara Shivamurthy from ORF and Shree Ram Patel from the Travel Agents Association of India to discuss this and more.
