Recently the ASHA workers were awarded and honoured by WHO for their 'outstanding' contribution to advancing global health. They demonstrated leadership and commitment to regional health issues. ASHA worker Poonam's story establishes the same. Poonam has been working in Gurgaon since 2006 and plays a critical role as she serves as a link between the community and the public health system.
