Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today apologised to Sonia Gandhi and told her he won't run for Congress President; he took "moral responsibility" for the Rajasthan revolt. The Congress said Sonia Gandhi will decide "in a day or two" whether Mr Gehlot would remain Chief Minister. All women are entitled to a safe and legal abortion process and making any distinction between a married and an unmarried woman in this regard is unconstitutional, the Supreme Court ruled today. The ground-breaking judgment also saw the court recognise marital rape, though purely within the ambit of abortion. The court ruled that under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, the definition of rape must include marital rape. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today hinted that action may be taken against Indian Administrative Service officer Harjot Kaur Bhamra, whose indiscretion during a recent interaction with schoolgirls caused a major embarrassment for the Bihar government.
