On offering namaz on road remark by a MP from Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launches scathing attack, called it a matter of shame for people of Assam. He stated, "An MP from Assam had said during the debate on Waqf in Lok Sabha that Muslim community should be allowed to offer namaz on the road. He made a speech as if the Freedom Movement was undertaken by one particular community, that Hindu community did not participate at all...People across the country and outside called me up and asked me what kind of people have been elected to the Parliament. This is a matter of shame for us. Saying such things has harmed Assam."
