It has taken Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi a full week after ethnic clashes began in his state, to reach Kokrajhar, the epicenter of the violence that has left 41 people dead and about 2 lakh homeless. In Kokrajhar he insisted that "Assam is not burning" and that it will take the state two or three days to get back to normal. There were some incidents of violence overnight and fear still haunts people in four districts of lower Assam.
