Assam's Child Marriage Crackdown Continues Despite Criticism
Assam Police's crackdown on child marriages in the state continued for a third day in a row, with over 2,000 arrests made so far. Despite criticism from Opposition parties and protests by women in several parts of the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said he wants to make Assam child marriage free by 2026, the year the state will go into polls.
