Assam Wants Legislators, Parliamentarians To Be Brought Under Two-Child Policy

Anyone with more than 2 children will be automatically disqualified from any government job in Assam from January 2021 onward. A policy that was drafted in 2017 is being implemented by the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government in the state. Many states in India already have the 2 child norm in place albeit in different forms. NDTV speaks to the population expert to find out if according to the data such steps prove effective in curtailing population growth or not.
