The Pahalgam terror attack has shaken the soul of the Valley, and as India mourns the loss of 26 innocent lives, Kashmir stands united.against terror, defiant that it will not fall back into the cycle of violence it has fought for years. This is exactly what was exhibited today by legislators across party lines in a special session of the J&K assembly that met today. The political class in J&K has condemned the attack in one voice, calling it an assault on the spirit of Kashmiriyat, on the Constitution, and on the dream of unity and peace. The Chief minister of J&K Omar Abdullah also said he had no words to console the victims and family members. He in fact read out the names and states of each of the 26 victims of the terror attack in the Assembly, Mr Abdullah said the security in Jammu and Kashmir is not under the elected government.
