The race to power in Tripura, which appeared to be a done deal for the BJP in the early rounds of counting, appears to be heating up. Following a lead in 40 out of 60 seats in the very early trends, the BJP numbers are hovering around the halfway mark -- currently at 32. The Left-Congress alliance is leading in 15 seats. The big story of this election is Tipra Motha, led by former royal Pradyot Manikya Debbarma. The party, which was being seen as an x-factor in these polls, is leading in 12 seats.
