At Least 14 People Lose Eyesight After Free Eye Surgery Camp in Punjab | Read
At least 14 people have lost their vision after cataract surgery at a free eye camp organized without permission by an NGO in Punjab last month. While the police have arrested Doctor Vivek Arora of Vidya Eye Care in Jalandhar who performed the botched surgeries, an FIR or police complaint has also been filed against the hospital where the camp was held. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has ordered an inquiry.
