Attention Please: Meet Delhi's New Traffic Marshals
They are a common sight on Delhi's roads but the next time you see someone from the transgendered community at a traffic light, be sure to stop and listen. In Delhi, a group of 26 transgenders, associated with Noida-based NGO Basera, have come up with a unique way to impart lessons on road safety. Together with law students from JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia these transgenders have teamed up with the Delhi Traffic Police to teach motorists the importance of wearing helmets and other road safety instructions.
