First bad weather and now the continuous fall in tomato prices have hurt farmers in Haryana badly. Many crops, including tomatoes, have been ruined by unseasonal rain and hailstorms over the past one month. Now farmers are throwing away their tomato harvest because they are not getting remunerative prices in the market. Farmers say that far from recovering the cost of growing tomatoes, they are not even able to break-even on the cost of transporting the tomatoes to the market. (Video credit: PTI)
