Bajaj Auto shuts Akurdi plant
No entry for workers at Bajaj Auto's manufacturing facility at Akurdi from Saturday as the two-wheeler maker shuts down its oldest plant.Bajaj Auto says that the closure of its 45-year old plant became inevitable because its costs had become unviable and production is being shifted out to more efficient plants at Pantnagar and Aurangabad, which enjoy tax benefits.
