Ballot budget: FM rolls out goodies
The finance minister has heaped goodies on election-bound states in the Union Budget 2006-07. These include West Bengal, base of the UPA's key allies, Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Finance Minister P Chidambaram's home state. But it is Marxist-ruled Bengal where the Congress has little chance of forming a government this summer, that's really got the lion's share of goodies from the Budget.
