West Bengal News | The 32nd Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier has carried out a major operation in the Naghata area of Majhdia town under Kishanganj police station area of Nadia district on the India-Bangladesh international border of West Bengal, striking a blow to drug smuggling. In this operation, a huge consignment of 62,200 bottles of Phensidyl was recovered from 03 underground storage tanks, the estimated value of which is ₹ 1,40,58,444/-. The recovery of such a huge consignment of Phensidyl is being seen as a huge loss to the smugglers and their network has been completely shaken. On 24 January 2025, based on accurate and reliable intelligence, the soldiers of Border Outpost Tungi of 32nd Battalion of BSF South Bengal Frontier launched an organized cordon and search operation in Naghata area under Majhdia town of Nadia district at 02.45 pm. BSF officers, soldiers and local police representatives participated in this operation with full vigilance and caution. During the search, the soldiers discovered 03 underground storage tanks. Two of these tanks were built hidden among dense gardens, while one tank was built under a hut made of CGI sheets. After opening the bunkers, boxes full of Phensidyl bottles were recovered from inside them, inside which 62,200 bottles of Phensidyl were found and their estimated value was Rs. 1,40,58,444/-. Everyone was surprised to see such a huge consignment of Phensidyl.
