As political turmoil in Bangladesh intensified, Sheikh Hasina resigned as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on August 05. Amid the violent protests, Former PM Hasina left Dhaka in a military chopper and fled to India. Thousands of protesters in Bangladesh celebrated PM Hasina's resignation. However, not only in Bangladesh, Hasina's resignation brought joy to Bangladeshis in other parts of the world as well. Bangladeshis living in India are also pleased with the decision, hoping that the situation will become better soon. One of the residents said that PM Hasina's resignation was a good thing for the nation. On August 5, Army Chief General Waker-Us-Zaman addressed a Press Conference and informed about the takeover of the country. He had earlier informed that former PM Hasina had left the country and they would form an interim government. Notably, over 200 people have been killed in deadly violence in parts of Bangladesh.
