The coming election in Bangladesh is seen as crucial to restoring democracy as the country has a history of military rule and political unrest. The two main contestants in the election are former prime ministers Sheikh Hasina Wajed and Begum Khaleda Zia. Both of them are busy in last minute campaigning. For them and 81 million Bangladeshis, this is a big chance towards restoring order almost two years after polls were cancelled following countrywide protests against fraud in the voters' list.
