Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Narendra Modi-led government rose above vote bank politics and banned the Popular Front of India. On top of that, the Home Minister said that the organisation was promoting religious fanaticism in India. While speaking to ANI, he said, "We've successfully banned Popular Front of India (PFI). I believe it was an organisation that was promoting religious fanaticism in the country. Documents found suggest that their activities were not in favour of unity and integrity of the country. We rose above vote bank politics and banned PFI."
