In the wake of the Bengal violence over the Waqf (Amendment) Act in Murshidabad, the BJP took out a protest march against the Bengal government. Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose condemned the violence in Murshidabad, calling it "barbaric," and said that such incidents should never happen again. A delegation of the National Commission for Women (NCW), led by its chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, also met riot-hit people in Murshidabad district and assured them the Centre would take steps to ensure their safety.
