It was a victory for protesting farmers. The central government finally blinked and allowed them to enter Delhi. But this wasn't before days of clashes and confrontations between the farmers and the police. Even today, farmers faced barricades, water cannons and tear gas shells as they tried to enter the national capital. Speaking to NDTV, founder-editor of PARI P Sainath asked, "Barricades, barbed wires, Border Security Force, 10-foot trenches, water cannons... was that the Line of Control or was it Haryana?" On the question of Minimum Support Price, he said, "If you (PM Narendra Modi) are so firm on the MSP, if you are so clear that no one and nothing can take it away, you have rammed through three complex heavy bills, put in one more, two paragraphs guaranteeing that MSP."
