Battle for Gorkhaland gathers steam
Twenty years ago the Nepali speaking population of Darjeeling had gone on the warpath demanding a separate state for themselves in the form of Gorkhaland. The man who led the movement, Subhash Ghising, has since then changed his stand. He now wants tribal status for Darjeeling under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
