The ruling-Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has won all six assembly seats where bypolls were held. The Opposition BJP lost the Madarihat seat, which it won in 2021. By-polls were held in the seat after MLA Manoj Tigga was elected Alipurduar MP earlier this year. Trinamool National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee thanked the people of Madarihat for the win. He said his party defied “narratives created by zamindars and the media to defame Bengal for their own vested interests.”
