One of the biggest issues confronting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the ongoing West Bengal Assembly elections is, has she been able to get industry and jobs into the state? Her finance minister cum industry minister Dr Amit Mitra says yes. The opposition doesn't agree, certainly not the state's CPM finance minister Dr Asim Dasgupta. Both the PhDs in Economics are crossing swords at Khardah constituency, about 15 km from Kolkata, on April 25. Dr Dasgupta says Khardah, a seat he represented from 1987 to 2011, is coming back to him. Dr Mitra is dancing on the streets already to celebrate his win. It is a battle royale between the two economists.
