The Calcutta High Court's strong orders say the CBI should be investigating post-poll violence, especially allegations of rape and murders of those who didn't support Trinamool in the recent West Bengal elections. Justice I P Mukherjee said if a crime is suspected to have been committed, it is the duty of the state to investigate into it, apprehend the offender and prosecute him and an ordinary citizen has a right against the state to expect that the alleged offender is brought to justice.
