The police in West Bengal have launched an investigation into allegations of siphoning money meant for students who are being provided tablets for their education under a government scheme. The opposition is alleging a scam as over a hundred complaints have been filed at police stations across the state with funds meant for tablets for students going into unauthorized bank accounts. Among the 16 lakh students covered under the scheme, about 1911 students have not received their money. The police have made several arrests and say the issue seems to be the result of unauthorized access to the system while entries were made. The West Bengal Chief Minister has also said that it is a case of hacking and all students who haven't received the money will get the money.
