Setting the agenda for the Banega Swachh India 12-hour cleanathon, Amitabh Bachchan encourages people to embrace Swachhta by littering less and composting more, and keeping the 10 yards of their surroundings clean and green. The cleanathon also gained support from several chief ministers, celebrities, and well-know personalities. Appearing on the Cleanathon, Chhattisgarh CM Raman, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made important announcements by declaring urban areas of their respective states open defecation free.
