The recent statement of the Bhutan PM on Doklam is casting its shadow on the visit of the King of Bhutan to India. Even as the Bhutanese side has clarified the Prime Minister's statement in the context of China being an equal interlocutor in the Doklam trijunction dispute, however, since Doklam is strategically important for India the matter has already made New Delhi uncomfortable. All eyes are now on whether the Bhutan-China border talks will find a reference in the meeting between PM Modi and the King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk.
