Big BJP Win In Rampur, Samajwadi Party Retains Mainpuri By Huge Margin
The BJP scored a massive victory in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur assembly bypoll, winning the seat for the first time ever. The seat and area were strongholds of the Samajwadi Party's Azam Khan for decades. In Mainpuri , where a Lok Sabha bypoll was held after the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, the former Lok Sabha MP and wife of party chief Akhilesh Yadav, won big . Samajwadi Party ally RLD wrested the Khatauli assembly seat from the BJP.
