The BJP and the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal are locked in close fight again for the top spot in Bihar -- the party with most seats. Currently, the RJD is ahead. The NDA which had retained the pole position in the state all day, is now frequently slipping below the majority mark in the 243-member assembly as numbers keep fluctuating. The biggest hit has been taken by Nitish Kumar, whose Janata Dal United is trailing in a chunk of seats -- an outcome brought about by voters' anger and the solo contest of Lok Janshakti Party's Chirag Paswan, which appears to have benefitted the BJP. The race is extremely tight in 18 seats, with the margin of lead being less than 1,000 votes, the Election Commission said.
