Bird flu shivers in TN poultry trade
Airports in Tamil Nadu are not accepting poultry consignments in the wake of bird flu outbreak in Maharashtra. The state, which is not affected by the outbreak, has a poultry population of 86 million and produces two crore eggs a day. It accounts for 18 percent of the poultry stock with a high turn over of over Rs 200 crore.
