Bitcoin has crossed the $100,000-mark for the first time on Thursday. According to data provider CoinGecko, the total value of the cryptocurrency market has almost doubled over the year so far to hit a record just shy of $3.8 trillion. In another development, General Motors shares slipped Wednesday after the carmaker said it would take more than $5 billion in non-cash charges and write-downs to restructure its struggling joint venture with SAIC Motor Corporation in China.
