When asked why the Congress expects special treatment when the BJP claims everything including Rahul Gandhi's disqualification, and subsequent eviction notice is as per due process, Congress spokesperson Aadil Singh Boparai said that the Central government was being petty and vindictive. The Congress, according to him, was least concerned with the perks in question. The Congress, he said "is engaged in a struggle to save democracy in this country and that the BJP could continue with its autocratic tendencies but that would not shake' the Congress' resolve."
