BJP had backed Mulayam for PM post: Amar
In a sideshow to the bigger political alignments, Samajwadi Party's Amar Singh took on old enemy the BJP. Amar Singh said at the time of the Presidential election controversy, BJP had agreed to prop up Mulayam Singh as prime minister, if the SP backed BJP candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat for President.
