Kolkata Doctor Rape And Murder Case: Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, spoke to ANI regarding the ongoing investigation into the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Adhikari urged the CBI to intensify its probe and called for the immediate arrest of several key figures, including Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Dr. SP Das, the Chief Minister's personal physician, and Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal.
Expressing the public's growing anger over the incident, Adhikari questioned the involvement of Sushanta Roy and Dr. Abhik, who were present at the crime scene on August 9th, implying they may have tampered with evidence. He demanded swift action to ensure justice is served and warned that the people of West Bengal would raise their voices if the investigation stalls. Adhikari also called for the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, holding her responsible as she oversees the state's Health and Home departments.
