A lawmaker of the ruling BJP in Uttar Pradesh has drawn severe criticism for her shocking comments targeting Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, who among other things, she said, "was a blot on womankind" having sold her "dignity for power", referring to the BSP-SP alliance. After growing outrage, Sadhana Singh issued a terse statement expressing regret. But it is just the latest salvo in a series of casteist and sexist attacks on the BSP chief and in election season could this turn into Advantage Mayawati?
