The Jammu and Kashmir government has collapsed and there will be Governor's rule in the state. This happened after the BJP withdrew its ministers in the PDP-BJP alliance and declared the alliance was over. Mehbooba Mufti has since submitted her resignation as chief minster to Governor NN Vohra. The decision to end the alliance was announced by the BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav, who spoke extensively about the security situation in the state saying terrorism, violence and radicalisation have risen and fundamental rights of the citizens are under danger in the Valley. Just how serious are the security considerations - is this the worst period for Jammu and Kashmir? We debate.
