The BJP has taken a big gamble in West Bengal. With barely 8 per cent votes in the last polls, it has gone and fielded candidates in all 42 seats. He is the candidate from Sreerampore, where Narendra Modi on Sunday triggered controversy with his swipe at Mamata Banerjee about her art and his threat to evict Bangladeshis. So, is there a Modi wave in Bengal or a mere ripple? The nine seats that went to the polls today could hold the answer to that question.
