For the first time, BY Vijayendra, the Karnataka BJP vice-president, has been given a state-level responsibility related to election. He will be heading a committee that organises conventions in all the 224 assembly constituencies ahead of the election. In this exclusive interview with NDTV's Sreeja MS, Mr Vijayendra, who will be contesting from Shikaripura - a constituency held by his father and former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for eight times - however, says the final decision lies with the BJP high command.
