BJP suspends Ram Jethmalani, says his statement on CBI chief in Congress's favour
The BJP has suspended senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Ram Jethmalani from the party. Mr Jethmalani has, in the last few days, openly taken on the party, especially over the issue of the appointment of the new CBI chief. He had written to BJP president Nitin Gadkari, slamming the party's opposition to the appointment, instead saying the government's decision had averted a "national calamity".
