BJP vs Opposition Over Parliament Security Breach, 14 MPs Suspended
Fourteen Opposition MPs suspended for disrupting parliament - 13 from Lok Sabha and TMC MP Derek O Brien from Rajya Sabha. This a day after several of them overpowered Sagar Sharma an intruder, who jumped into the Lok Sabha from the Visitor's gallery releasing colored smoke from a canister that he took out from his shoe. The Opposition has been demanding action against Prathap Simha, the BJP MP who signed the gate pass allowing Sagar in. They also want a statement from Minister Amit Shah on this massive security breach in the new parliament building. The Speaker said the buck stops with the Lok Sabha secretariat. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called the protests by MPs in the Lok Sabha 'anarchy'.
