Larry Fink's Blackrock has bought 40 per cent in Hemendra Kothari's DSP Merrill Fund Managers. This is in line with the global strategy of Merrill Lynch, which holds 49 per cent in a JV with BlackRock in the US. The combined asset management company is now called BlackRock and it holds over $1 trillion in assets. The total size of the joint venture here will be about Rs 32,000 crore.
