BMC elections: Parties await symbols
In the run-up to the BMC elections, several new parties are yet to be allotted symbols by the Election Commission, including Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). According to the Election Commission's rules, only those political parties that get at least 6 per cent of the total voteshare in Lok Sabha or Assembly elections can get a fixed symbol.
