As people resort to panic-buying and stockpiling, vegetable vendors say supplies have been hit by the nationwide lockdown. One wholesale vendor told NDTV that there was enough vegetables to last for 2 days in his shop. Trucks are being stopped at the borders although there isn't any shortage of supplies. The vendor gets his onions from Nasik and potatoes from different parts of Uttar Pradesh and said that trucks are being held up at these borders. People have already stockpiled supplies at home but they are still unsatisfied. They need to understand the situation. Auto rickshaws that carry vegetables from the wholesale vendors to the retailers are being stopped by the police, affecting the supply chain.
