But in the meantime, half of Mr Modi's attention must be fixed back home on the situation on India's north-eastern border. The standoff between India and China shows no signs of a thaw. China today escalated the rhetoric, saying 'India's activities violates the United Nations charter and established principles'. Analysts say a standoff like this is not new, and that India has resolved many such incidents in the past via dialogue and careful engagement. But has China's rhetoric taken a nasty turn?
